Colby Covington Retires, Per UFC
Colby Covington has retired from the UFC and was removed from the active roster. UFC officials confirmed he notified the company of his retirement. His last octagon appearance was a December 2024 loss to Joaquin Buckley, which followed another consecutive defeat. Covington had sought a spot at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, but did not receive the opportunity. He previously complained that the UFC was “icing him out” and keeping him inactive for over a year. His retirement freezes his UFC contract, so any return would still be under UFC control. He can continue competing in RAF wrestling and other disciplines such as BJJ. He is scheduled to face Chris Weidman in RAF later this month.
"Instead, Covington can continue to compete in RAF (Real American Freestyle) wrestling, and other endeavors like BJJ, should he desire to. Covington faces Chris Weidman in RAF later this month. In MMA, Colby "Chaos" Covington notched notable wins over Demian Maia, Rafael dos Anjos (to win interim gold), Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, and Jorge Masvidal."
