""I've done the groundwork, mentally, years ago, so I know how to put myself in the right mind frame. Working with the PI, the staff have been amazing. Just real positive about the progress and the rehab. So yeah, it's an ACL. We went into the surgery thinking that, 'Hey, this could be saved between six to eight months or so longer for some,' but with the progress that we've got at the moment, it's only been a week now, and we're moving pretty good. I think we've got a good formula going, and the body's healing really fast.""
Carlos Ulberg, the light heavyweight champion, is recovering from knee surgery after a fight against Jiri Prochazka. Despite a torn ACL, Ulberg is making impressive progress at the UFC Performance Institute. Initially expecting a six to eight-month recovery, he now believes he may heal faster. Ulberg credits his mental preparation and the support from the staff at the Performance Institute for his positive outlook. He remains undefeated in his last ten fights, with seven finishes since his only career loss in 2021.
