Braves reliever Joe Jiménez underwent a "cleanup" surgery on his left knee, president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos told reporters (Including David O'Brien of The Athletic). The right-hander missed the entire '25 season after undergoing surgery to repair cartilage damage in that same knee last November. While the framing of the surgery as a "cleanup" doesn't sound especially alarming, the timeline isn't clear.
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jaire Alexander has decided to step away from football in order to focus on getting right physically and mentally amid his ongoing recovery from offseason knee surgery, a league source told ESPN on Tuesday, confirming a Fox Sports report. Alexander, 28, informed the Eagles of his decision Tuesday, a day after their victory over the Green Bay Packers on "Monday Night Football." He did not travel with the team to Green Bay for the game.
The Jacksonville Jaguars made the move in Week 7 to run the offense through rookie two-way threat Travis Hunter -- and it brought out the best in him. He set season highs in catches (eight) and receiving yards (104) and caught his first touchdown pass while the rest of the offense was stagnant during a 35-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. After the Jaguars got back from their Week 8 bye, they planned to turn Hunter loose on offense again. But he suffered a non-contact LCL injury to his right knee during an Oct. 30 practice which derailed that idea.
It has been a long wait. The last time Barcelona played at their iconic stadium was on May 28, 2023, in a La Liga fixture against Mallorca. That day, the Catalans celebrated a comfortable 3-0 victory, with Gavi himself on the scoresheet. Few knew then that this would be the final time the team would step foot on the old Camp Nou before the massive redevelopment project began.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Kings forward Corey Perry will be sidelined for six to eight weeks after undergoing knee surgery. The 40-year-old Perry was injured Friday while skating at his new team's training complex, the team announced Saturday. The Kings will report for training camp in less than a week, and their season opener is Oct. 7 against Colorado.
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has had a knee operation which the club have described as 'minor.' The Germany international missed last week's 5-0 win against Leeds after picking up the problem during the win at Manchester United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
