Sunday Streets SF transforms San Francisco streets into car-free spaces, offering recreational activities, health resources, music, dance, and fun to neighborhoods. The program has expanded into two open streets destinations and four block party events in 2024.
Sunday Streets began in 2008 with Mayor Gavin Newsom's support, influenced by Bogotá's Ciclovía. Livable City has grown it into a major program, involving volunteers, local businesses, sponsors, and city agencies.
