A rogue middle manager was allegedly collecting rent under the table from squatters while working for the private management company.
At least 20 squatters had gone to the management company alleging they paid the former senior property manager rent.
A current employee mentioned that the squatters targeted for rent payments were Latinos or Hispanics, possibly due to perceived ease of control.
