Children's Musical Theater San Jose is preparing for a significant transition as Kevin Hauge retires after 57 seasons. Kikau Alvaro, an experienced theater-maker and previous member of CMT, steps in as the new artistic director. With a rich background in choreography and performance, and experience in various cities, Alvaro expresses excitement about returning to his roots and leading the company. He views this opportunity as the culmination of his diverse experiences in theater and aims to meld his educational and commercial directing approaches in this new role.
All transitions are difficult. I would have loved to stay in Philadelphia… But there was something that was calling to me with this position in particular.
I’m just excited for all these things melding into one cool job.
