Bilal Mahmood, the new District 5 Supervisor, is committed to engaging with community groups to understand pressing local issues like the fentanyl crisis and immigration. Since unseating the incumbent, he has held over 50 meetings with more than 200 residents to gather insights on their priorities. Mahmood is also focused on a collaborative approach with the mayor's office to quickly advance initiatives beneficial to the district, which includes areas such as Haight-Ashbury and the Tenderloin.
