Caltrans shares when crucial Yosemite road will reopen
Briefly

After a weeklong closure due to a rockslide, state Route 140 into Yosemite National Park is set to reopen for one-way traffic by Wednesday evening. Crews worked continuously to clear debris and repair damage, allowing for some access again. The closure impacted the community of Mariposa, which saw disruptions to daily life and local businesses suffer from a drop in visitors. Local leaders expressed relief and gratitude for the reopening, highlighting the resilience in facing such repeated challenges.
Luckly, there wasn't too much damage. Crews worked around the clock on Sunday and Monday to haul away debris and spent Tuesday repaving the highway.
We've dealt with this a lot over the years. I mean, I don't know how many times this kind of stuff's happened, but we're excited to have the road open again, that's for sure.
