Bayview's Alice Griffith housing was built in 2017. It's already falling apart. Why?
Briefly

On April 21, during an art show led by Malik Seneferu, a segment of the ceiling at the Alice Griffith housing complex fell, injuring resident Annette McClendon. The incident revealed serious maintenance issues, as a building inspector noted prior water leaks likely contributed to the collapse. In the aftermath, community residents gathered to address ongoing neglect from property managers, exacerbated by poor living conditions including trash and pests. Despite changes in management, concerns persist among residents about the lack of improvements.
When McClendon, a building resident, came back from the hospital, she was wearing a neck brace and had bruises across the back of her neck.
Seneferu's first instinct was to document the event: He grabbed his phone and began to film as McClendon sat dazed beneath a three-foot hole in the ceiling.
Two weeks later, on May 5, Seneferu stood in that same room as tenants of the complex at 2600 Arelious Walker Dr. near Candlestick Point crowded together in folding chairs.
