Vacant storefronts, especially near my home, have been an eyesore for years. We need to empower residents, support local business growth, reduce taxes for leasing, penalize long-term vacancy, and streamline approval processes for new businesses.
Collaborating with landlords, business associations, and the community to facilitate tenant-landlord connections, provide grants and loans to support local entrepreneurs will transform these vacancies into thriving community centers.
