X: Musk blocks EU Commission advertising account - Lapresse.US
"Nikita Bier, head of product at X, has announced the cancellation of the EU Commission's advertising account. 'Your advertising account has been closed,' Bier wrote in a post to which he attached another post from the European Commission. The Ad account is an additional account linked to a main account, designed to manage advertising campaigns, and X's announcement came after the European Commission imposed a £120 million fine on the social network on Friday for violating transparency rules."
"You logged into the inactive advertising account to exploit a vulnerability in our Ad Composer, posting a link that led users to believe it was a video and artificially increasing its reach. As you may know, X believes that everyone should have an equal say on our platform. However, it seems that you believe that the rules should not apply to your account. Your advertising account has been closed," Bier's post reads."
Nikita Bier, head of product at X, announced cancellation of the European Commission's advertising account. X concluded the commission logged into an inactive advertising account and exploited a vulnerability in X's Ad Composer to post a link presented as a video, artificially boosting its reach. The Ad account is an additional account linked to a main account and is used to manage advertising campaigns. X's action followed the European Commission's imposition of a £120 million fine on the social network for violating transparency rules. X stated that platform rules apply equally and closed the affected advertising account.
