The Coulsdon community will soon have access to a new banking hub, opening in April, aimed at filling the void left by the closure of Barclays bank in 2022. Many residents, particularly the elderly, have faced difficulties managing their finances without a local bank and with limited public transport options. The hub will serve customers from all major banks and offer a range of services including transactions, bill payments, and face-to-face consultations with community bankers. This hub is being developed with the support of local councillors and aims to restore vital banking access to the area.
We are delighted that a lease has been signed and work has begun to fit out the new banking hub in Coulsdon. Coulsdon's last bank closing just over two years ago made it far more difficult for residents and businesses to access the banking services they need.
The upcoming opening of the banking hub is expected to offer a much-needed solution, providing a one-stop service for customers of all major banks.
For many Coulsdon residents, especially the elderly, who relied heavily on in-person banking services, Barclays' bank closure in October 2022 was a blow to being able to manage their finances.
Customers will be able to meet face-to-face with their bank or building society for more complex queries, with a private meeting room available.
