However, disparities remain among studios, with Universal Studios exhibiting a higher percentage of female-led films compared to Sony Pictures. While female leadership in films has proven economically favorable, representation of minorities remains an ongoing challenge.
This is the first time we can say that gender equality has been reached in top-grossing films, showcasing a significant increase in female protagonists in 2024.
