Saoirse Lillis McMahon, 32, of Moveen East, Kilkee, faces a charge of dangerous driving causing the death of cyclist Michael Lorigan, 70, described as an inspirational school teacher. The fatal collision occurred on August 16, 2023, on the N67 at Baunmore, Kilkee, west Clare. The charge is brought contrary to Section 53 of the Road Traffic Act. McMahon has entered a signed guilty plea and will be sent forward to the circuit court from Kilrush District Court.
