What we know about the deadly Cybertruck crash in the Bay Area
Briefly

Much is still unknown about the one-car accident. At the press conference, Chief Bowers said speed was likely a 'contributing factor' but added that officials were early into investigating the causes, as well as the location from which the young adults had been driving.
Three people in the car were declared dead on the scene, and the survivor was rushed to an area hospital. Friends said the victims were '23 Piedmont High School grads who were enrolled in college and returned home for Thanksgiving.'
When police arrived about two minutes after receiving an iPhone emergency alert from within the vehicle, they found an onlooker pulling out one of the car's passengers. The Tesla was mangled against a tree by the stone wall and engulfed in flames, appearing to have crossed the oncoming lanes before jumping the curb.
The investigation is going to take some time, and I don't expect answers soon. The vehicle being a Cybertruck, relatively new to the market, will add another dimension to officials' work.
