Danny Callanan, a campaigner for Catherine Connolly, began a memorable day with a cycle and 20 lengths of pool. He cycled from Claddagh to Salthill and briefly reflected the momentum associated with Connolly's late presidential run. Yesterday morning Callanan stayed ahead of Connolly as she left her house in Claddagh. Connolly cycled two kilometres to the Galway West Count Centre at Galway Lawn Tennis Club. The events combined swimming and cycling and linked residential Claddagh with the count centre in Salthill, marking visible local movement around the Galway West count activities.
