Visiting St Mary's Church Wimbledon
Briefly

The current church, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1843, is the fourth church on the site, increasingly adapting as the area urbanized.
The beams in the chancel roof, believed to be of Medieval origin, were rediscovered in 1860 and beautifully restored in 1993 for the church's 150th anniversary.
Notably, the church's bells date back to the reigns of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth, emphasizing the historical significance of its architecture.
The churchyard features various decent graves, along with the mausoleum of Sir Joseph, known as London's sewer king, adding further historical context.
