Video. Prayers for earthquake victims in Tibet
Briefly

A catastrophic 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Tibet near Shigatse on January 7, leading to at least 126 fatalities and injuring 188 individuals. Following this, over 500 aftershocks were recorded, creating ongoing challenges for rescue efforts in the mountainous region. Rescuers faced freezing conditions while urgently searching for survivors and distributing vital relief supplies, including tents, to those affected by the natural disaster.
The earthquake, originating near the Nepalese border and close to Mount Everest, has significantly impacted the region, which is already challenging for rescue operations. The freezing weather has complicated efforts, making the distribution of relief supplies and search operations difficult as rescuers work tirelessly in inhospitable conditions to reach the victims.
