Vadim Nemkov, the PFL heavyweight, is preparing to fight Corey Anderson for the first time in nearly a year but encounters controversy over the matchup. Nemkov stated that he did not initially view Anderson as a viable opponent and sought renegotiation with the PFL regarding better financial terms or a title fight but was refused. Following the announcement of the fight, it was reportedly called off, prompting Anderson to accuse Nemkov of being overly sensitive. Nemkov emphasized that he requires motivation and reward for fights at this stage in his career.
We didn't even consider him as an opponent to begin with. When it was announced, we talked to PFL, we asked them to renegotiate the contract... PFL refused to do so.
Honestly speaking, it's from the perspective of what I can get out of this fight. There's nothing that I can gain from it.
The second fight (with Anderson), the PFL announced the fight before we agreed to it. Afterwards, we started negotiating.
Fights off and according to Bellator/PFL Nemkov was being a crybaby about the fight. They agreed then declined because I'm 'too tough of a fight,' Anderson said.
