Travelers are advised to apply for an ETA at least a few days before their journey. Approval should be granted within a few hours but may take up to 72 hours to process.
The ETA is valid for two years or until your passport expires, meaning there's no need to apply for a new one on each visit within the valid time period.
Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries are already required to obtain an ETA prior to travel to the UK. Eligible non-Europeans must comply starting January 8, 2025.
To apply for an ETA, you'll need a valid passport, a digital headshot, your travel plans, and a debit or credit card for the fee.
