The proposed Tapestry development in Croydon's Cultural Quarter will feature three tower blocks reaching heights of 41, 28, and 15 storeys, aimed to revitalize a long-vacant site.
Croydon Council's ambition is to establish a cultural quarter, following an extensive refurbishment of Fairfield Halls at a cost of 67 million, which is more than double the initial budget.
The Tapestry project aims to provide 674 rental flats, with a significant emphasis on affordable housing, though the exact percentage available remains uncertain prior to the Council's meeting.
In addition to housing, the development will allocate 694 square meters for retail and enhance local healthcare services, including a clinical facility for the NHS and a nursery.
