Ultramarine Linux 40 continues to be one fine unofficial Fedora Spin
Briefly

In 2023, I reviewed Ultramarine Linux, based on Fedora 39, calling it the 'desktop of the year.' Now, with the new version based on Fedora 40, the developers have vastly improved the documentation experience, fixed numerous bugs, and polished the distribution to a gleaming, sparkling shine, making it a solid choice for users looking for a smooth Linux experience.
The developers have really upped their game with the documentation found in the Ultramarine Wiki, offering valuable information for users on installing and configuring the distribution. This includes guidance on installing codecs, NVIDIA drivers, and setting up backups, which enhances the usability and accessibility of Ultramarine Linux.
I opted for the Flagship version which uses the Budgie desktop. Out of the box, the layout feels familiar and defaults to a dark theme, which may not be for everyone. Personally, I prefer lighter themes, as they are easier on my eyes, especially when reviewing and using the distro for extended periods.
Currently, the developers are preparing to replace Fedora's Anaconda installer with their in-house-built Readymade installer. Although Readymade is not ready for use in Ultramarine 40, we can anticipate its release in version 41, refining the installation process and enhancing overall user experience in the future.
