UK relaxes passenger transit rule on ETA visa for travellers
Briefly

Since January 8th, the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) became compulsory for all non-EU citizens traveling to the UK, with limited exceptions.
Following feedback from the aviation industry, the UK government announced a temporary exemption for passengers transiting airside, who do not enter the UK border.
Heathrow Airport estimates that the initial requirement for ETA for transit passengers could cost it approximately 4 million travellers annually.
The ETA, costing £10 and valid for two years, will also be extended to EU citizens from April, except for Irish nationals.
