"Mark Lee (44), a then unemployed man, had earlier that day posted on social media: "I'm not homophobic myself, but I am racist and I'm not afraid to say it. The Government made me like that." Unlike the two men who murdered Josip Strok, the deceased and his friend were working, the judge said, and offered more to Irish society"
"Two men have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the "brutal" murder of a "good friend, amazing brother and super son" who was taking his last step towards fulfilling his life when he was beaten to death on a Dublin street. Passing sentence today, Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring said that one of the defendants, Mark Lee (44), murdered Josip Strok (31) while acting on weak hearsay evidence from two youths that the deceased and his friend, David Druzinec (29), had assaulted a child."
Mark Lee posted on social media that he was racist and that the Government made him that way. Two men were sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of 31-year-old Josip Strok, who was beaten to death on a Dublin street. The victim was described as a good friend, amazing brother and super son. The judge noted that the deceased and his friend David Druzinec were working and contributed more to Irish society than the defendants. Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring said Mark Lee acted on weak hearsay evidence from two youths alleging an assault on a child. The killing followed that hearsay and resulted in life sentences.
