Tanner Fox and Jose Lopez pleaded guilty in a British Columbia court to the contract killing of Ripudaman Singh Malik, shot outside his business in 2022.
Despite confessing to the murder, Fox and Lopez did not disclose who hired them or paid for the murder of the Sikh man acquitted in the Air India bombing.
The assassination of Malik occurred shortly after revelations surfaced regarding a violent campaign against Sikhs in Canada orchestrated by the Indian government.
Malik, previously acquitted in the 1985 Air India bombing case, was shot dead while sitting in his car; the incident further highlights the ongoing violence surrounding Sikh issues.
