Two elephants die in Thailand flooding

According to Sangduean Chailert, the founder of the Save Elephant Foundation, Ploy Thong was blind and could not navigate the floodwaters, making her situation dire.
Fah Sai, described as playful and a strong swimmer, and Ploy Thong, who was rescued from being a street-begging elephant, tragically succumbed to the flood.
In response to the tragedy, Chailert buried both elephants near their recovery site and planted pink trumpet trees as a memorial for them.
