The Bacton Action Group is hosting a significant public meeting with developer Mount Anvil and Camden Council regarding plans for 26-storey tower blocks at the former Bacton Low Rise estate. This meeting is pivotal as developers aim to increase the number of homes from 247 to 447, raising community concerns. Chairman Robert Lewenstein emphasizes the importance of this meeting, marking a shift from prior consultations that lacked genuine dialogue. Local groups have been invited to foster collaborative discussion among stakeholders and residents in the community.
We feel this meeting will be the most important of the campaign. At last Mount Anvil and the council have realised they need to talk to us, a major change from a consultation that's in reality been a presentation.
Plans were approved more than a decade ago were for 247 homes, but the new designs are for 447, with two towers up to 26 storeys high.
