Tottenham Hotspur have appealed against the lengthy seven-match ban imposed on midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, which stems from comments about teammate Son Heung-min's race.
Spurs accepted the guilty finding against Rodrigo but argued that the subsequent suspension is overly harsh, pointing out that the standard minimum ban for such breaches is six matches.
In his apology on Instagram, Bentancur expressed regret for his remarks about Son, who acknowledged the apology and emphasized their brotherhood, saying, 'We are united and will be back together in pre-season to fight for our club as one.'
Son's supportive response highlighted the understanding and forgiveness in their relationship, stating, 'Lolo would not mean to ever intentionally say something offensive. We are brothers and nothing has changed at all.'
