According to local authorities, three foreigners have died in a hotel fire in a popular tourist area of Thailand's capital Bangkok, with seven others treated in hospital.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt stated there were 75 people in the hotel during the fire, with 34 rescued from the rooftop, emphasizing the need for improved safety inspections.
Chadchart highlighted that 'we have to build confidence and take care of tourists,' underlining the significance of tourism, which is vital to Thailand's economy.
With tourism accounting for nearly one-fifth of Thailand's GDP, the local government is responding to this tragic event by prioritizing safety in hotels and entertainment venues.
