Three crashes in three weeks outside busy Wexford pub - 'We have to mitigate against fatalities here'

The N25 Rosslare road outside The Coal Bunker Bar has become a hotspot for accidents, prompting concern from local officials. Three incidents occurred in a single month, involving staff or patrons of the bar and resulting in hospitalizations but no fatalities. Local councillor Ger Carthy warns of the potential for a serious incident if measures aren't taken. He urges the National Transport Authority, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and Wexford County Council to implement traffic calming and safety improvements due to the significant increase in road usage and the area's history of fatal collisions.

We need to think about...what could potentially happen here...with collisions here three weeks in a row now. I think that's something that the NTA, TII and Wexford County Council need to think about.

This stretch in Drinagh...needs to be urgently looked at by TII and the NTA before we see another fatality. We've seen a one hundred-fold increase in activity on the N25.
