The search for the three missing climbers on Aoraki has ended, as authorities believe they have perished in a fall, despite efforts to locate them.
Police inspector Vicki Walker expressed confidence in the decision to conclude the search, noting that items recovered and the time elapsed indicate the climbers likely did not survive.
The two American climbers were experienced alpine guides. Search efforts included aerial surveys and drone reconnaissance, which ultimately suggested the tragic fate of the climbers.
Aoraki, New Zealand's tallest mountain, is known for its challenging conditions and technical difficulties, making it a perilous location for climbers.
