According to data from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, U.S. gunmakers operated over 3,700 active production facilities in 2022, yielding nearly 13.4 million firearms.
Georgia stands out in firearms manufacturing, producing 1,185,497 firearms in 2022, representing about 8.9% of total U.S. firearm production that year.
In Georgia, pistols comprised 67.2% of the total firearm production, while revolvers and rifles accounted for 24.2% and 8.6%, respectively.
