Transport for London (TfL) is commencing year-long roadworks on Battersea Bridge to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety, following the tragic death of jogger Jack Ryan.
The planned upgrades include new pedestrian crossings, bus lanes, and a dedicated cycle track, aimed at significantly improving safety for bridge users.
Wandsworth Council will close the bridge temporarily from May for the construction work, which is intended to minimize disruption through overnight closures.
Penny Rees emphasized TfL's commitment to 'Vision Zero,' stating these improvements will be crucial in reducing accidents and promoting safer streets.
