This European City Is the No. 1 Destination for Expat Quality of Life - and It Gets 300 Days of Sunshine a Year
Briefly

InterNations' 2024 Expat City Ranking highlights Valencia, Spain, as the best destination for expatriates, based on a survey of over 12,500 expats. Valencia excelled in Quality of Life and Personal Finance indices, with no negative reviews on public transport affordability and high satisfaction regarding safety and cost of living. However, the local job market received mixed feedback, as 46% of expats reported difficulties finding work. Overall, while Valencia is highly praised for daily living, concerns about employment opportunities persist for those considering relocation.
After a minor slip to 3rd place in 2023, Valencia returns to 2022 form by regaining first place in the 2024 Expat City Ranking.
No respondent in Valencia (0 percent) had anything negative to say about the affordability of public transportation, opportunities for recreational sport, or their personal safety.
More than three in four expats (77 percent) are also satisfied with the general cost of living, versus 40 percent globally.
However, the research noted one drawback: According to local expats, 'working abroad' can be difficult in Valencia.
