"Oh my God! Got him! Yes, we got him! We got him!" one of the rescuers exclaimed upon spotting the missing dog Charlie on the drone's thermal images, illustrating the intense emotions involved in the search.
"And, he was in this, kind of, park, walking trail area off in some tall grass and broken-down trees. And, he was hiding there," said Kate Belmonte, describing where her dog was found after nearly a week.
"It's just unbelievable technology, and pretty much without this, to be honest with you, I don't know we would've been able to find him," said David Nowak, crediting thermal technology for their dog's rescue.
Charlie is currently recovering at a veterinary hospital after surgery on a broken femur, emphasizing the challenges he faced while being lost in the wild.
