The Prince Charles Cinema Is Under Threat of Closure
Briefly

The Prince Charles Cinema, cherished for screening a diverse array of films, is at risk due to landlord demands for a higher rent and a break clause that could force its closure. Despite achieving a record attendance of over 250,000 visitors last year and enjoying support from notable directors, the cinema perceives the landlords' actions as an intention to redevelop the site. Legal actions to contest the new lease terms are on the horizon as the PCC strives to safeguard its operations amidst growing threats from property developers.
The PCC has stated that we will be raising legal proceedings to contest their valuation of the lease in the strongest possible terms.
Our landlords Zedwell LSQ Ltd and their parent company Criterion Capital have demanded a break clause that would require us to vacate the premises at 6 months' notice.
