The Northern Lights Are Just Not That Interesting to the Naked Eye. Enough!

Despite the heightened aurora visibility during a recent solar event, my experience of viewing the northern lights in Minnesota leaves me with only a vague greenish glow.
On the extraordinary night of May 10, although NASA claimed it was one of the best in 500 years, the aurora still appeared as just a smudge to my eyes.
