"Every single year, we really try to deliver the best in entertainment," Kathleen Wright, director of production operations for Macy's studios, told the 'Today' show on Monday.
This year's parade not only marks the 98th celebration but also commemorates the 100-year anniversary of the first Macy's parade, held in 1924.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade evolved from its humble beginnings to a spectacle of giant helium balloons, extravagant floats, and star-studded performances.
The parade was originally called the Macy's Christmas Parade and had a hiatus from 1942 to 1944 due to World War II.
