William Bailey, known in ballroom as Founding Father ICON Bugz DONYALE LUNA, reflects on initially considering another name for the house before discovering Donyale Luna's significance. 'I had never heard of DONYALE Luna before, but after watching the documentary, I was blown away by her story and presence,' he says.
The moment I decided to name the house after Donyale Luna was transformative. Inviting Aoki Donyale Luna as the founding mother solidified our mission to weave together the legacy of a true icon with a vibrant community committed to celebrating Black excellence.
