In a recent blog post, George R. R. Martin expressed that Zah McClarnon deserves an Emmy for his role in AMC's 'Dark Winds.' The cast supported this idea at Sundance 2025, highlighting the show’s deeper significance beyond awards. Jessica Matten reflected on the meaningful connections forged with viewers, while McClarnon noted the importance of representation for Native youth. The show, adapted from Tony Hillerman's Leaphorn & Chee series, features a predominantly Native cast and crew, emphasizing the significance of telling authentic stories from their perspective.
