The Clicks keyboard case, designed to transform an iPhone into a Blackberry-like device, provides a unique typing experience with its physical keys and shortcuts. While the newer iPhone 16 version enhances usability through its sculpted keys and accessory support, the impact on typing speed is minimal. Users find that modern touchscreen efficiencies like gesture typing and auto-correct often negate the need for physical keys. Though Clicks frees up screen space, many users desire functionality without the keyboard, highlighting a niche product appeal in a market of highly efficient touchscreen interfaces.
The reality is that on-screen keyboards have become pretty efficient on their own. Between gesture typing and auto-correct, a practiced touchscreen typist can rattle off emails or text messages without having to scrutinize each letter, so there's little time gained from having physical keys beneath the thumbs.
Still, every time I perform a typing test, the results are about the same with or without Clicks. My typing hasn't gotten any faster with Clicks, but things like copying, pasting, and switching between apps has become more efficient.
