Temperatures could hit 30C again today, but some areas could be hit by heavy rain
Briefly

High temperatures today could reach 30C in certain areas, prompting a Status Yellow warning across multiple counties. This warning indicates the risk of forest fires and water safety issues due to increased beach usage. Alongside the heat warning, a separate thunderstorm warning is issued, predicting heavy rain and potential flooding. Cooler temperatures, with highs of 14 to 21C, are expected starting Monday, marking a shift to more unsettled weather conditions through next week, although temperatures may rise again later on.
A Status Yellow warning for high temperatures is in place today for all of Connacht and counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.
Temperatures in those counties are expected to climb to 27C and above, bringing a possibility of forest fires, heat stress and water safety issues due to increased use of beaches and lakes.
Monday will see a big drop in temperatures, with highs of 14 to 21C, coolest in the west and southwest.
Next week will be a change from the recent fine spell as Met Éireann has forecast 'generally unsettled' weather, though temperatures will rise again in the coming days.
