Temperature falls to -18.7C in north Scotland, a 15-year low for UK

The Met Office confirmed that temperatures in northern Scotland have hit -18.7C, marking the coldest January overnight temperature in the UK in 15 years, with forecasts suggesting continued chilling conditions.

Zoe Hutin from the Met Office indicated that while temperatures are expected to recover somewhat by next week, they will still remain below average, contributing to a particularly long cold spell across the UK.
