Tanaiste condemns overnight Russian missile attack on Kyiv as at least 15 dead, including three children
Briefly

Russian-led strikes on Kyiv used drones and missiles and caused widespread damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. The attacks damaged the EU Delegation building and multiple high-rise apartment blocks, with heavy destruction in two buildings across the Dnipro River and a partly destroyed five-storey building in Darnytskyi district. Rescue teams searched rubble for trapped residents. Officials reported at least two children killed and 38 people injured, including several children. International representatives condemned the strikes, demanded a halt to attacks, summoned the Russian representative, and called for a full and unconditional ceasefire.
"These brutal attacks also damaged civilian infrastructure, including the EU Delegation in Kyiv," said Mr Harris. "This morning, I have directed my officials to summon the Russian representative at their Embassy here so they can be left in no doubt as regards our outrage at what happened in Kyiv last night. "Russia must immediately halt its criminal attacks and agree to a full and unconditional ceasefire."
"The EU Delegation in Kyiv was damaged by today's Russian strikes on civilian areas," Kos said in a post on X. "I strongly condemn these brutal attacks, a clear sign that Russia rejects peace and chooses terror. Our full solidarity goes to EU staff, their families, and all Ukrainians enduring this aggression."
"Unfortunately, the Russians' style is typical in their attacks," Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, wrote on Telegram.
"Combined strikes, from different directions. And systematic, targeting ordinary residential buildings."
