"My stomach was very sick at the time, I had to keep going in and out of the toilet. When I went into one of the cubicles, the door was locked from the inside," she told the Irish Independent. "The second toilet in the middle had tissue all over the ground. I actually picked some of it up and threw it into the toilet myself. It was all over the place."
"I didn't really want to use the toilets, but I had no choice. I was careful with what I was drinking because I didn't want to go back into that toilet again." Ger believes that the toilets weren't cleaned for the first six hours she was in the hospital.
"You go into a hospital to be made better; you're not going into the hospital to be picking up other people's germs and that's the way I felt."
A spokesperson from Tallaght University Hospital said: "We regret the experience the patient had, our staff work extremely hard to maintain a high standard of cleanliness."
