Miami Crispy's owner, Tayyab Ahklaq, withdrew his request to extend opening hours to midnight following resident protests and concerns over littering and anti-social behavior in Clayhall. The petition spearheaded by local resident Razwana Hafiz expressed frustrations regarding the restaurant's impact on the community. During the council’s licensing meeting, residents voiced their distrust towards Mr. Ahklaq, leading him to acknowledge the community's sentiments. Ultimately, Mr. Ahklaq chose to withdraw his application and expressed a desire to collaborate with residents to improve community relations.
Mr Ahklaq responded: If it's possible, I'm happy to do that right now.
Cllr Anne Marie Sachs offered Mr Ahklaq the opportunity to confirm his decision - which he did.
