Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that Sweden is neither at war nor at peace, highlighting the need to be prepared for hybrid attacks amidst increasing threats to national security.
He emphasized that true peace necessitates freedom and the absence of serious conflict, while acknowledging the rise of hybrid threats manifesting through disinformation and sabotage rather than conventional warfare.
Kristersson announced that Sweden would contribute to NATO efforts by deploying up to three warships and a surveillance aircraft for monitoring undersea infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.
Addressing the recent undersea cable damages, Kristersson remarked that hostile intent cannot be ruled out and insisted on the importance of thorough investigations before assigning blame.
