Swedish inquiry proposes more than doubling fee for citizenship
Briefly

Judge Kirsi Laakso Utvik stated, "The higher fees will cover the additional costs to the Migration Agency stemming from new requirements we are implementing. We have calculated these fees based on what they would be if we had kept the previous indexation tied to inflation, reflecting today’s expenses after removing that link."
Utvik explained, "The new fee structures are designed to align with those in other European countries like Germany and Italy, making Swedish citizenship fees more comparable. Swedish fees will still be lower than those in Denmark and Norway, maintaining a balance in our immigration policy."
