A man known to the well-respected victim was arrested at a nearby property. Gardaí believe the suspect in the fatal stabbing of a prominent Co Donegal businessman and former election candidate may have travelled to and from the scene on a quad bike. The victim, Stephen McCahill, was 66 years old. McCahill was a married father of two. McCahill died following an assault at his home on the outskirts of Ardara in the early hours of yesterday.
