Supermodel Roshumba Williams returns to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue as a SI Swimsuit legend
Briefly

Roshumba Williams, a pioneering African American model who first appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 1990, is making her return to the magazine as a legend for its 2025 issue. Currently, she's in Jamaica for a photoshoot with photographer Yu Tsai. Williams expressed immense gratitude for being still part of the SI family, highlighting the ongoing value and relevance of diverse beauty standards. With a career that began in Paris under Yves Saint Laurent, she's also a fashion expert for 'On The Red Carpet,' set to cover the Oscars on March 2, 2025.
It brings a smile to my heart and tears to my eyes knowing that more than 30 years later, I'm still considered part of the SI family.
It signifies that my beauty is still valued, accepted and relevant among various types of beauty. It's mind-blowing, breathtaking and humbling.
Williams began her career in Paris in 1987, where she was discovered by the late and great fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
She will be joined by fashion expert Joe Zee and KABC's Leslie Lopez for the 2025 Oscars live red carpet coverage.
